ACT Theatre 1989

France in 1348, ravaged by the plague, is the setting for this lively and impassioned comedy written by Peter Barnes in 1976. Red Noses tells the story of Father Flote and his merry band of Red Noses who are tasked with bringing laughter and joy back to the people who are fighting the immense despair of the black death. Directed at ACT in 1989 by former artistic director Jeff Steitzer, the production was a hit and featured many ACT veterans including young actor, Kurt Beattie.
